My dream of heading to Europe for a unique project was realized in June this year when work began on the refurbishment of a 17th Century apartment in northern Italy. While there was no structural work to do the place was a shell and the challenge of the original (and very bowed) 16th Century wall running the length of the kitchen was quite a challenge. With a miniscule budget and an environmental ethos we scoured the local Marcertino’s and antique markets for pre-loved treasures. The bedroom with it’s dramatic blue walls and rich tapestry creates a sense of drama and warmth while the rest of the apartment is crisp and earthy.
A 1940’s bungalow set at the top of a hill overlooking the town. This old girl just needs some love. With colour, quirkiness and up-cycling existing pieces into usable pieces of art at the top of the brief, this project is a slow cooking joy to work on. Watch this space…..
A Bondi bachelor pad for and advertising exec and his teenage sons. Tactile, good looking yet functional living zones and low maintainence areas were key. The textured tiles used in the bathrooms softened the aesthetic while still keeping that masculine vibe. Earthy tones used in accessories and furniture helped to seamlessly connect the outdoor spaces to the inside.
I absolutely can’t wait for this project to get underway. With my concepts approved by my fabulous clients and the schedule package as detailed as can be the project is currently out to tender and the build should start soon so stay tuned.
This cool and relaxed advertising agency in Bondi Junction was a project I worked on while with Design Bubble, a small boutique interior design and architecture studio. Pairing vintage finds with LA cool the owner wanted a masculine yet relaxed atmosphere. The hidden door to the store room that lies behind the panelled blue wall was one of my favourite features.
Working side by side with a local architect to streamline the functionality and aesthetic of the interior design. Pulling finishes, reworking colour palettes and tweaking layouts to create beautiful, livable spaces. While as a contractor on projects like these I don’t get any public recognition, the process is incredibly satisfying and utilizes my skill set well.

The press is a not for profit community driven creative space happily positioned under the archways of Jubilee light rail on the Glebe foreshore in Sydney. When I first visited the press in 2016 I was charmed by it's beautiful brick arch and the generous spirit of it's inhabitants. I could see an utter gem of a space amid the clutter and the fire blackened ceiling. After many, many hours with a small yet determined crew we scrubbed and painted our way to a vibrant, bright and usable space that is now a fabulous venue for exhibitions, events, workshops and print runs.
