Italian Apartment
The renovation of a 17th Century apartment in northern Italy was both a lesson in patience (dealing with Italian tradies) and a labour of love. While there was no structural work to do, the two room apartment had been used as a working artists studio so transforming it into a warm and inviting home away from home was no easy task. The challenge thrown down by the original (and very bowed) 16th Century wall running the length of the kitchen led to some very creative and flexible design ideas. With Marnee’s sustainability ethos in mind, she scoured the local Marcertino’s and antique markets for pre-loved treasures. The bedroom with it’s dramatic blue walls and rich tapestry creates a sense of drama and warmth while the rest of the apartment is crisp and earthy. This fabulous apartment will soon be available to rent for those seeking a holiday for creatives and treasure hunters alike. Watch this space.
